I think it's better to have ideas. You can change an idea. Changing a belief is trickier. Life should be malleable, but beliefs anchor you to certain points and limit growth-new ideas can't generate and life becomes stagnant.
He's doing just fine. He's just... Well, I'm not at privelage to say. It's not my place. He's doing perfectly fine though. I talk with him frequently, so just know that he's perfectly alright.
